Film Scanning

We have recently introduced a new high-resolution film scanning service based on the latest hardware available from Nikon.

Our machines are capable of scanning 35mm negatives and transparencies as well as a variety of medium formats and microscope slides, and producing a minimum of a 50Mb file without any interpolation, at either 8 or 16 bit and in RGB or CMYK. We can also organise multi-pass scanning to further improve final image quality.

Prior to each scan taking place we first clean the media with dry compressed air in order to remove any dust particles.

If required we can also clean slides and negatives with a photographice emulsion cleaner ('PEC 12') which allows us to also remove grease marks fom handling.

All images scanned are produced with no further post production being undertaken, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Indexing

We can also return your documents to you accompanied by a comprehensive index database including data detailed with your films including dates, subject, camera, photographer and any other information you can supply. This is a great way to begin to use your new digital achive.
